There are some gruesome descriptions of torture and murder in some of the books as well, but not overly long and usually just once in each book, if that. I probably wouldn’t have noticed except I read five books over the past week, one after another, so it was quite obvious. Only the names are changed, or at least that’s how it appeared to me. There is some element of danger in all of them, and there is graphic sex in all of them as well. These books are historical romance but also romantic suspense. I received egalleys, advanced review copies, from the publisher for the other books in the series that I read. I found the rest of the series through my library. So I started looking around at the series and realized what I had done, reading those four books in the middle. The most recent book is HIGHLAND WOLF, which I read a few weeks ago and really enjoyed. I read the next couple, then somehow forgot about this series. I picked it up during a Droughtlander (the years between the books in Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series and/or the eponymous TV series.) But when the next book, THE HIGHLANDER’S PROMISE, came out, I read it and liked it a lot.

The first book I read was SURRENDER TO THE HIGHLANDER, and I wasn’t thrilled with it. I started reading this series in the middle, as I often do, back in 2018. Book 2 Book 3 Book 4 Book 5 Book 6 Book 7 Book 8 Book 9 Book 10
